After weeks of training, 73 students from the 1st Baccalaureate enjoyed nature by taking part yesterday in the V Edition of the Gaztelueta-Ganekogorta Trail.
The preparation has been carried out since the beginning of the school year in the Physical Education classes through demanding stress tests. The participants have also previously attended information sessions given by Pedro Mesas and Manu Feria, in which they received nutritional advice for the days before the race and details about the route.
At around 10 o'clock on a splendid October morning, the start was given and the runners headed towards the Pastorekorta to then tackle the Ganeko. The best time to reach the top was set by Rafa Villallonga, with 48'31'', followed by Jaime Smith (53'08'') and Ignacio Domingo (56'09'').
After briefly regaining strength and enjoying the fantastic views, the descent to the Llodio slope began, passing the Fuente del Espino and the Pagasarri. At the finish line, dried fruit and drinks were handed out, which were enjoyed at the Larraskitu picnic area, while impressions of the day were exchanged. Once again this year, the Ganekogorta TRAIL has been a great success.
