Full name and promotion

Borja Luzuriaga, 46th promotion (I finished in 2006)

Where do you live and since when?

I live in Los Angeles, California. I moved here 12 years ago to continue my training in the audiovisual world and ended up staying.

What do you do?

I currently create content in Youtube and Twitch, mainly in the Gaming vertical, although I have also worked in TV Production and Film Distribution.

What is the most positive and the most negative thing about this country and its citizens?

I think any country can have positive and negative things. In the case of the USA I think the professional mentality is something that makes people grow, everyone wants to be the best possible professional in their field of work and this ends up pushing one to want to excel. On the negative side, it is also a country with many political differences that have been dragging on for a long time and continue to divide the population in a harmful way.

When was the last time you visited Gaztelueta?

If I'm not mistaken I was at the school in September 2019 taking part in a talk with students together with my former teacher Álvaro Alonso, but I have also taken the opportunity to visit whenever I can because it is a place that brings back very good memories and there is always a familiar face to say hello to.

Any memories, anecdotes or adventures that you particularly remember from your school days?

There are thousands of them, I constantly remember the good years we spent at school, the sports parties, the Christmas festivals, the hours in the dining room... It is a period of my life that I treasure very fondly. I would highlight the good times we had with our classmates playing Divinarium, a little guessing competition we had in front of Tiresias.

How do you think it is noticeable that he is a Gaztelueta alumnus? Any special nuances or characteristics?

Everyone is surprised when I tell them that I still have the same group of friends from school, and I thought it was something normal. Over the years I have realised that it is something common among Gaztelueta students, we keep those friends with whom we spent every day for 12 years throughout the rest of our lives.

Will you go back to live in Spain, or to Bilbao?

I would love to in the future, I think we don't value what we have at home until we leave it behind. In my case Getxo, it is a safe, green place with a lot of social life that you miss a lot.

A message for alumni?

A hug to all those with whom I shared so many good moments in Gaztelueta, and especially to all my teachers, who put up with us and helped us to educate during the most enjoyable years of our lives.
