In November, students from the 1st Baccalaureate participating in the International Dual Program (IDP) held a working meeting with the management of the restaurant and catering company TAMAR. With more than two thousand employees and three production centres, this company covers the geographical areas of the Basque Country, Madrid and Valencia.
The IDP Programme offers students the possibility to come into contact with the world of work.. As part of the activities planned for this course, two teams of students travelled to the Zamudio headquarters. On two successive days, they held working meetings with the company's managers. After the explanation of the production lines, objectives and way of working, the catering company managers presented some ideas about a new product line to offer to customers. The collaboration of the IDP teams is focused on this aspect.
In the coming months students will develop some ideas on possible products, modes of presentation and marketing campaign. Many questions arose at the working meeting, which served to define the lines of collaboration that the company needs and expects to receive from the students' work. In this process, a line of communication will be kept open between TAMAR managers and the two teams of students, who have already begun to develop ideas.
In short, the aim of the activity is to contribute to the students' university and professional orientation, putting them in contact with the world of work, so that their dedication to the IDP results in a real contribution to the specific needs of companies.
