On Tuesday 26 March, the Leioa City Council organised an activity on sustainable mobility for the 10 schools in the town, including Gaztelueta. The schools were grouped in pairs and our pupils worked in teams with the pupils from Lamiako Eskola.
The activity aimed to to make participants aware of the importance of taking care of the environment when travelling, helping to reduce emissions. To do this, we were given case studies: the sports centre was turned into a huge scale map of the municipality and we were given an origin and a destination to reach. The aim was to reach the end point via the most environmentally beneficial route.
The 6th grade students returned home very happy with the activity carried out by the Leioa City Council through the programme Agenda 21They were able to raise awareness of environmental protection in a fun way.
