Primary 4 pupils have attended a session on intellectual disability. It was not given by an expert as such, although they are; it was Diego and Libe, the father and mother of Jaime, a 4th year Primary pupil who has Down's Syndrome.

They explained that people with this syndrome do not suffer from a disease, and that, with more effort, they can do almost the same things as others. They demonstrated this with videos of Jaime swimming, achieving an orange belt in mugendo (a karate discipline), playing the piano or shooting a basket.

Also, a special needs teacher from Gaztelueta explained to the 4th EP children present how we can help them and how we don't help them throughout the day, with everyday things. They also pointed out how through their effort and perseverance, they teach us so many things. Diego and Libe have, they say, been learning from Jaime for 10 years. At the end they gave the children the story 'My sister Lola'.
