The Gaztelueta Alumni Association has as its main objective to serve as a link between those who are part of the school, promoting activities that allow the relationship and participation of all those who have been students.
We promote many activities every year: meetings between classes, sporting and cultural activities, conferences and get-togethers, as well as facilitating more specific issues such as discounts on facilities and scholarships for children of former students who want to study at Gaztelueta.
On this occasion, we would like to remind you of a cultural activity that we consider to be very interesting and that we are promoting from the Association: the upcoming 21 SeptemberOn Saturday, at 19.00h, in the auditorium of the Andrés Isasi Music School (Social Theatre) in Las Arenas, the staging will be performed in commemoration of the centenary of the premiere of the work LA VENGANZA DE DON MENDO, by Pedro Muñoz Seca.
It is a familiar work, of great interest, not only for its quality, but also for its amusing and entertaining character, where our former pupil Ángel Gortázar Lecea (Don Mendo) demonstrates his contrasting acting talents to captivate audiences of all ages.
This theatre company (born out of the author's love and family ties), which has performed this play in different cities with great success, has among its members descendants of the author himself, Pedro Muñoz Seca. In addition, for this performance in Las Arenas we will also have the participation of Álvaro AlonsoThe role of Bertoldino, a teacher at Gaztelueta and a former student of the XXIII graduating class, and of two current high school students.
The proceeds, in accordance with the aims of the Association, will be used for charitable purposes through the NGO Zabalketafounded by former students of the school.
