Academic excellence

We work with each student as a whole person to maintain an excellent academic record, certify other languages, foster intercultural relations, and gain the recognition and professional recommendations to achieve their goals.

Cooperative learning

Students contribute their skills and knowledge to a common project. In the laboratories to carry out experiments and practices that complement theoretical knowledge and are organised in teams.

Project work

Project work using a cooperative learning strategy is a successful combination that results in improved student learning not only in the acquisition of knowledge, but also in the development of skills and competences.

Chromebooks

The use of Chromebooks allows students to use applications such as Google Drive, which enables group work to be carried out through a single shared document. In addition, they can design presentations and save the documentation contributed by each team member in shared folders.

Learning to speak in public

Every week the students have the opportunity to acquire this important skill slowly and in an enjoyable way through fun methods. The use of a camera makes it possible for the students to watch their performances in order to learn from their mistakes and improve in different aspects.

Radio programme

The students broadcast a weekly programme on Radio Vinilo (96.7 FM) in which they analyse the evolution of Athletic and Arenas de Getxo, the different teams in the Spanish football league, as well as the progress of the other main European leagues.

Book of the protagonist

From their first steps in the infant stage, children learn to express themselves through highly motivating activities. This is the case of the main character's book. It is their first experiences of public speaking.

Exhibitions

The pupils have the opportunity to acquire this important skill little by little and in an enjoyable way, through fun methods: they learn to write and deliver a speech, to perform a humorous monologue and to learn which postures and gestures to eliminate in order to be a good speaker; sometimes they have to sing and even sell a product. Students gain social skills, exercise empathy and learn to manage their emotions.

Debate

The great benefits of public speaking skills for pupils' daily lives and future careers have led us to make a firm commitment to strengthening pupils' speaking skills. In Secondary School, different activities are developed, such as debates, for example. They learn to defend and present their ideas in an orderly and logical manner in front of their classmates and teachers.

Our motto

"Be our yes, yes. Be our no, no".

The school's motto responds to a founding desire to give special prominence to the habits of sincerity and loyalty.
Gaztelueta is a corporate work of Opus Dei, which is exclusively responsible for Christian orientation. Religious formation activities are organised for pupils, teachers and parents who wish to attend, always on a voluntary basis.
