Last Friday, Iban Rodríguez, Mayor of Leioa, visited Gaztelueta on the occasion of the school's participation in the Gaztelueta Competition. StartInnovaa business ideas competition created by The Courier has been running for eleven years now to promote entrepreneurship among young people.
On this occasion, the Baccalaureate students are participating in the competition through the project they are developing in the subject of economics. Simulated CompanyThe aim is to give students the opportunity to form teams and create their own virtual company in order to provide them with a realistic experience of the business world.
The Mayor of Leioa, who already has experience as a mentor in the competition, provided suggestions to incorporate into the proposals or information on the support services for entrepreneurship that exist in the City Council and other administrations and encouraged them to take care of the details of their proposals.
STARTinnova will be present in this school year 2023-2024 in the Basque Country, La Rioja, Asturias, Valencia and Castilla-León. In this edition, more than 3,500 students will be trained on this e-learning platform aimed mainly at students aged 16-17 who are studying for their Baccalaureate or Vocational Training.
