Álvaro de la Viuda (Prom.37) holds a degree in Law from the University of Deusto and after a brief period at the Basque Treasury, he undertook a business project with a classmate and friend from the same class at Gaztelueta, Ignacio Prado. "Today, 20 years have gone by since the foundation of Gesalia and we continue with the project together, developing different themes in the world of Real Estate all over Spain". His father also studied at Gaztelueta, as did he and his son Álvaro, who is currently in his third year of ESO.
During his time at Gaztelueta, he forged great bonds and friendships that in most cases continue to this day. "It was a great promotion; two colleagues have received Goya awards from the Academy of Arts and Sciences (Fernando Velázquez and Iván Oneka) and we also have our 2004 Olympic judo player in Athens, Kenji Uematsu, that's nothing?"
At 48, he is married and has a son. They like to play sports together, especially skiing and cycling and a bit of golf in the summer on trips to the south. He tries to go to the Remember of the Gaztelueta Cycle TourThe event, which he enjoyed so much when he was a student, coincidentally takes place this coming weekend.
"Looking back, the education in values that I acquired at school, the passion for sport and the importance of the family are something fundamental that I try to transfer to my environment and apply in my day-to-day life. I remember very fondly the years I spent at the school and I was lucky enough to meet great people, teachers and trainers and although times have changed, I relive it today in my accompaniment of my son at school and it is a satisfaction to see that everything remains the same even sharing historical teachers.".
