As in previous years, today 26th February, Ash Wednesday, a penitential act for families will take place at the school to coincide with the beginning of Lent. It will consist of the celebration of Holy Mass at 19.30h. in the school chapel in the central building, with the traditional imposition of ashes. From 19.00h. the sacrament of confession will be available and the priests will continue to hear confessions throughout the ceremony.
"Look into the open arms of Christ crucified, let yourself be saved again and again. And when you come to confess your sins, believe firmly in his mercy that frees you from guilt".
(Pope Francis, message for Lent 2020).
This ceremony is organised for all the families of the school, but it will have special significance for the families and pupils in the 3rd year of Primary School. who are preparing for their imminent First Confession. For this reason they will participate with their songs in the Holy Mass. This year we will also have the choir made up of mothers and fathers from the school who are preparing for the ceremony with great enthusiasm.
We want it to be a family celebration of the beginning of Lent. That is why we invite you all to participate and enjoy the renewal that comes with the sacrament of reconciliation and closeness to Jesus.
To make it easier for you to attend, we will have a nursery service where you can leave your children during the celebration.
