Personal development

Personalised attention for each family and each pupil

Since the beginning of the school, part of the teachers' work dedication is the precepting and regular conversations with parents. Three interviews with the preceptor/tutor are planned throughout the school year (one per term). This figure is also a bridge between the families and the school.
To highlight how individualised attention also makes sense in the infant stage when we respect, according to the age of each child, their needs and rhythms in terms of basic habits, respecting the rhythms of sleep, maturity, adapting activities to their development.

Parent-teacher-child conjunction

We try to involve parents in the school's education in order to work together so that the values and messages that the pupils receive at home are reinforced at school and vice versa.
Gaztelueta families have access to information about their children on the school's intranet website. Likewise, the families of the youngest infants (up to the age of 2) have an application that acts as a communication notebook, where they are informed of their children's daily lives in relation to different basic habits: eating, sleeping, etc.

The offer of sessions and conferences as well as the annual Parents' School in the second term are great opportunities for the involvement of families in their children's education.
Participation in the sessions and conferences is very high and they are focused on meeting the demand and interests of parents when it comes to choosing the topics covered.
Several courses have taken place in recent months:

  • First aid for babies and children.
  • Emotional management.
  • Nutrition.

Positive and personalised education

Positive and personalised education is one of the basic principles we follow at Gaztelueta, as it contributes to a high level of personal and human development of our students during their time at the institution.
Cordiality and respect are pursued in all pedagogical work. The atmosphere of trust in which the pupils carry out their school work and the closeness of the teachers and families to each other is noteworthy.

Emotional management

In the spirit of working hand in hand with families and educators at the school, and in the knowledge that our mission is to accompany families in educating their children, different management education courses are held every year for both families and teachers.
The objective of the emotional management courses is to reach an understanding of the emotional reality of the human being, deepening in some aspects necessary to carry out a personal accompaniment that generates growth processes.

Solidarity

We promote commitment to others and encourage pupils to actively participate in improving society. All the Infant School families have participated in different solidarity activities that have taken place during Christmas time.
Although the children are very young, it is a great opportunity to raise awareness from an early age about openness and helping others, with campaigns to collect food and toys for families in need.
