Through sport we help children develop both physically and mentally.

We compete in four disciplines

Football

125 pupils compete in official tournaments in the categories Alevín, Infantil, Cadetes and Juveniles. Sportsmanship is the hallmark of our teams.

Handball

We have seven handball teams across the school. It is a sport with a great tradition, as we managed to be in the honorary division in the 60s.

Basketball

There is a high level of sportsmanship in our basketball teams. The coaches manage to get the best out of the kids. Many pupils play in these teams.

Athletics

Compatible with the other three sports, they learn different athletics disciplines and participate in regional and national competitions.

Sports figures in Gaztelueta

400 A

400 pupils of different ages play in official competitions in one of the 25 teams with which the school competes in basketball, football or handball.

Gaztelueta has more than 17,000 m2 of sports area spread over the different green areas of the school. This area represents 1/3 of the total surface area.

125 F

With 125 students competing in different championships representing Gaztelueta, football has been our star activity since the beginning of the school.

Sports party

Among our school traditions, for more than 65 years this festival has been organised at the end of May, when all the pupils parade around the athletics track and run the giant relay, in the presence of their families and many former pupils.

Autumn Olympiad

In October an Olympiad is held for primary school pupils, in which the Olympic flag is raised and the torch from the 1992 Games is used. High jump, long jump, steeplechase, relay races and the traditional cross country race are some of the events that the pupils take part in in a festive, family atmosphere.

Covering all educational stages, from Infant to Baccalaureate, allows us to work with each student as a whole person, to develop all their intellectual aptitudes and to forge a personality that allows them to achieve their future goals.
