The month of December began in style, with a Greenpower competition in Cartagena, no less, where it was recently has begun to implement this comprehensive educational project.
After hours of work and preparation, the school's Greenpower team travelled there by road two days earlier to prepare well for the competition. Secondary and Vocational Training students from 9 schools from all over Spain competed for the podium in the Permanent Speed Circuit of Cartagena as a stage set in the first edition of the Greenpower Iberia South-East international competition.
The race, organised by the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineering (ETSII) of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, aims to promote interest in industrial engineering among students in primary, secondary and vocational education. The Official College of Industrial Engineers of the Region of Murcia (COITIRM) won first place. The students from Gaztelueta won 2nd place in the race, and their bodywork was also awarded as the most sustainable. IES Miguel de Cervantes completed the podium.
It is not the first and will not be the last competition in which we will participate, after the great events of Silverstone, Los Arcos o Gijónand the local races in Bilbao, Muskiz and Las Arenas. From all of them the team came out stronger and with more ideas to improve in so many aspects that influence the good performance of these electric vehicles.
We keep working for the next competition!
