During the period of confinement the school wanted to be as close as possible to their families by means of the project Gaztelueta in your home. With the same objective as always, to help families in the education of their children, through social networks much has been done in this direction, among other things by organising virtual meetings with different experts and figures of educational and cultural relevance for families.

One of them was María Zalbidea, trend analyst at C4E and founder of Bridging the digital divide, who taught us how to make the best use of screens in these difficult moments as well as in everyday life. One of the themes of his live on Instagram was the need for a digital family plan, a resource for the family, and the need to bogged down which aims to make a digital diagnosis of the home by analysing different variables, as well as mapping the technological profile of each member of the household. The digital plan includes a series of recommendations and guidelines on how to make good use of screens at home.

In addition, Zalbidea insisted on the need to take an interest in and get to know our children and their digital habitsWhat do they consume and what apps do they like the most? He also talked about differentiating the use given to different devices, and the importance of taking advantage of the fact that they are digital natives to create moments of conversation and education based on or in line with their preferences.

We are grateful for the willingness of people like María, who help us in our educational work with our families.
