Organised by the school's Infantil, three professionals from the University Clinic in Pamplona offered a free course on important aspects to bear in mind during pregnancy, delivery and postpartum in the months following childbirth.
Juan Luis Alcázargynaecologist, taught the attendees how to prevent and reduce risks during pregnancy, so that everything goes well during pregnancy. By way of introduction, explained what the physiological process is and what factors are involved, as well as the means of preserving maternal well-being and the importance of the mother-child bond during the nine months. He also discussed the doctor-patient relationship, the importance of empathy and care, and the role of the father in this important and delicate process. He also spoke in more depth on some details related to the recommended diet, the type of exercise needed and the least recommended.
In another part of his speech, the doctor spoke of the naturalness with which the changes that a woman undergoes during this process should be received, and some ways of avoiding some of them. Finally, on the mother's understandable fears about childbirth, Dr. Alcázar reassured the audience with his experience in the field.
In the second part of the course, the midwives of the Pamplona University ClinicMaite and Arancha Larrea They explained what it is like to go into labour, what symptoms to look out for and what scenarios are possible when a woman is about to give birth. The role of the father throughout the entire gestation period was also discussed, as well as the importance of his special support, especially in the months immediately after birth with the care of the baby.
Those attending the course were able to ask all their questions to the professionals, who with common sense and a lot of experience helped to provide information regarding this exciting moment in their lives.
