On 23 April, coinciding with the feast of St George, a date on which we pay tribute to two great writers who died on this day, Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra and William Shakespeare, in Infantil we celebrated Book Day.
The school was transformed for a day into a magical place where the characters of the fairy tales that our children love so much arrived, from 'Snow White' to 'The little smug mouse', 'Peter Pan' or 'Pinocchio'.
We started the day with the activities that the Spanish department had organised with such enthusiasm: the children looked for hidden letters all over the school, played bingo with words and exchanged books that they had previously brought from home with the intention of encouraging their love of reading. They also learnt about the story of St. George through a Chinese shadow play and had a great time!
At mid-morning and to get some energy they enjoyed some letter biscuits where the older children helped the little ones to recognise them one by one. Later on, there were traditional games that they like so much such as sack races, feet together, the spoon game, etc. They also had some time to enjoy the library and the workshops.
In the afternoon, as is now tradition, the teachers performed the story of 'Peter and the Wolf', where the children learned the following moral: "Don't tell lies because the day you tell the truth, no one will believe you".
