The penultimate Gaztelueta dialogue of the quarter featured Mikel Martínez, until recently head of the emergency department at the Basurto University HospitalProfessor of Internal Medicine at the UPV/EHU, official doctor of La Vuelta y current vice-president of Athletic Club. #DiálogosGaztelueta
Moderated by the Gaztelueta professor, Manu Feria, during the approximately 50 minutes that the Gaztelueta Dialogue lasted, and under the title 'From the health crisis to sporting euphoria', the guest spoke first of his experience in managing the pandemic during the toughest months of the health crisis, as well as how he sees the medium and long term future in terms of recovering a certain degree of normality.
The conversation then turned to his vision of the two-wheeled sport that is so popular in the Basque Country, as well as the occasional anecdote about his career as a doctor for cyclists until he became, after a long career, the official doctor for La Vuelta.
Finally, and of course, it goes without saying, on the verge of no less than two Copa del Rey finals, Mikel analysed the mood of the club ahead of such important sporting events in the history of the historic football club.
It was a pleasure to have the experience of a person with such a varied life experience, and we at the school would like to thank Mikel for his kindness and willingness to help.
