Last Friday, several students from the 1st Baccalaureate attended, together with their families and teachers, the 10th Law and Society Awards Ceremony organised by the law firm Roca & Junyent

This "The Law and You" competition of the Social Responsibility of the Legal Profession (RSA) is aimed at secondary school students from educational centres nationwide. Its ultimate aim is to promote an attitude of respect and observance of the rules and to try to enable young people to reach, by themselves, the conclusion of the common good, from the conservation of urban furniture or the individual contribution to the support of public health, to the prohibition of gender violence or harassment through social networks.

The RSA project at the firm, in which most of the firm's lawyers participate, begins with a programme of educational sessions in schools in which various topical issues are addressed. Throughout these ten editions of the programme, around 9,000 young people have participated in the more than 450 sessions held.

Once the sessions are over, the students reflect on the subjects taught and produce a work of their choice. A jury of RocaJunyent professionals makes a first sieve and an external jury of renowned professionals chooses the winning projects.

In the latter, Gaztelueta was one of the 7 finalists out of more than 200 projects submitted by all the schools. The awards ceremony was held at the Rafael de Pino Auditorium in Madrid where our students had the opportunity to meet Miquel Rocaone of the seven fathers of the Spanish Constitution.

Topics such as freedom of expression, gender violence, image and copyright, housing, LGBT+ rights and children's rights, among others, were chosen by the students.

It is also worth highlighting the collaboration and involvement of all the schools, which year after year trust in the initiative for the benefit of society. A drive to connect two worlds, Law and Education, which come together to bring young people from schools to a space for reflection and common work.
