Last Saturday the Gaztelueta Sports Club organised on the school premises an intensive Children's Handball Day (2011-2012), in which more than 40 men's and women's teams from Bizkaia, Alava and Gipuzkoa took part. The event started early in the morning with the participation of all the teams and throughout the afternoon competition groups took place.
The women's final was contested by Errotabarri (Ermua) y Urdaneta (Loiu)The first team won the final. For their part, Sestao won the men's final against the Gipuzkoans. Octopus (Zumaia).
Our Children's team played host, enjoying a great handball party at the school. A success that brought together hundreds of players and families for almost 12 hours to enjoy a sporting atmosphere, full of energy and fellowship.
Handball has always been Gaztelueta's most representative sport throughout its almost 75 years of history, with great achievements by its teams, especially the historic "senior" team, and with great contributions to the history of this sport in our country. The Gaztelueta Sports Club helps, with initiatives of this kind, to keep its history alive since 1951.
