In-service teacher training

In our work as teachers, lifelong learning is crucial. In such a changing society, it is essential that teachers have the necessary tools to be able to meet the demands of today's reality. The right of students to a quality education means that teachers must be trained, motivated and in a position to meet the demands of today's reality.

In our work as teachers, the lifelong learning is decisive. In a changing society, it is essential for teachers to have the necessary tools to be able to meet the demands of today's reality.

The right of pupils to a quality education means that teachers must be trained, motivated and constantly learning.

At Gaztelueta we are committed to continuous training, and for this reason, together with the International Cooperative Learning CentreIn the course of the conference, we had the opportunity to attend 4 face-to-face sessions about the implementation of Cooperative Learning in Gaztelueta. The course did not end here, as throughout 2023 and 2024, we will continue our training with webinars and online support.

In addition, this year the school is taking part in the programme Spanish Service for the Internationalisation of Education of the European Union. This programme provides grants for teacher training abroad, among other things. It is a unique opportunity for school staff to participate in international training courses in different European countries.

On 5, 6 and 7 December 2022, the first mobility of this course took place, a trip to Reggio Emilia, Italy. A group of pre-school teachers from Gaztelueta had the opportunity to take part in this Study Group and share the experience with teachers, atelierists, psychologists and pedagogues from different parts of Spain and Latin America.

During these professional development days, they were able to attend conferences and visit different centres such as the Remida Creative Recycling Centre, the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre's Nursery and Primary School (3-11 years), or the different Ateliers in the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre.

On the other hand, the entire teaching staff of Gaztelueta is immersed in the Plan for the Digital Transformation of the Basque Education System 2022-2024 proposed by the Basque Government, with the aim of boosting the digital skills of all teachers with the priority of adapting the entire education system to the digital era.
