The adaptation period in Gaztelueta Infant School is progressing very positively and this morning the 1 and 2 year olds took part in a psychomotor skills session which took place, extraordinarily, in the garden of their pavilion. Taking advantage of the excellent weather conditions, the teaching team decided to move this activity outdoors, offering the children an educational experience enriched by the natural environment. This activity, which takes place daily in a specific classroomThe aim is to work on the children's motor skills and to fostering their cognitive, emotional and social development.

Psychomotor skills are a fundamental part of the educational curriculum at this age as they enable children to improve their coordination, balance and body control. In this outdoor session, the pupils were able to experience a different environment, which added an extra sensory dimension to their learning.

The class in the garden was organised around several motor activity circuits, designed by the teaching team to make the most of the features of the outdoor environment. The children participated in exercises involving jumping, running, crawling and moving in different directions, using both the available space and materials such as hoops, ropes and balls. The main objective was to encourage the development of their basic motor skills in a fun and playful environment.

The class also encouraged social interaction among the children, who participated in both individual and group activities. The garden became an ideal setting for the children to cooperate with each other, learn to take turns and support each other in the exercises.

The success of this outdoor psychomotricity class reinforces Gaztelueta's educational approach, which is committed to offering its students varied and innovative learning experiences. It is undoubtedly an initiative that reflects the school's commitment to a comprehensive education adapted to the needs of each child.
