As is tradition at Gaztelueta, once again this year the Infants' Pavilion was immersed in the fantasy of fairy tales to celebrate Book Day. From early in the morning, dressed up in costumes of their favourite stories, the pupils from Year 1 Class enjoyed a multitude of activities organised by the Spanish Department.

With the aim of fostering a love of reading from an early agecelebrating Book Day with our Infant pupils helps us to help them discover that books are valuable, exciting and fun. Also st provides an opportunity for further work language and cognitive skills with language and vocabulary development; with activities such as reading aloud and storytelling, children are exposed to new words and concepts that contribute to their linguistic and cognitive development.

The stories stimulate imagination and creativity and offer imaginary worlds that can inspire children's creativity. Celebrating Book Day therefore gives them the opportunity to explore these worlds and express their creativity through artistic activities such as creating picture books or acting out stories.

We cannot forget about the impact of reading on your emotional and social developmentBooks can help children understand and manage their emotions, as well as develop empathy for others. By reading stories about different characters and situations, children can learn about different emotions and how to manage them. In addition, book-related activities such as the ones that took place today in Infantil encourage social interaction and teamwork.
