Last Monday was held the Los Arcos Greenpower Circuitlocated in Navarra, in which the entire team took part. Greenpower Gaztelueta both in category Goblin as in F24new equipment thanks to sponsorship from Ortasa Group to STEAM projects in Gaztelueta. In this new Greenpower challenge our team has achieved a meritorious 2nd place against more than twenty institutes from Catalonia, Basque Country and Navarre.
The project Greenpowerin which Gaztelueta was a pioneer in Bizkaia, promotes sustainable engineering and electric mobility among young people. Organised by the Greenpower Iberia FoundationThis event is part of the international programme Greenpowerwhich aims to inspire students to develop science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) skills through designing, building and racing electric vehicles.
The circuit in Los Arcos, which takes place at the prestigious Navarra Circuit, is one of the outstanding venues of this competition. Our teams, made up of Primary and Secondary School students, work for months to build electric vehicles that meet the standards and regulations of the competition. These electric cars are powered by batteries and must be designed to be efficient and sustainable, thus promoting technological innovation and respect for the environment.
The event at Los Arcos not only focuses on the race itself, but also includes a series of educational activities and workshops that enrich the participants' experience. These workshops address topics such as aerodynamics, energy efficiency and renewable energies, providing students with a deeper understanding of the scientific and technological principles applied in their projects.
In addition to fostering technical skills, the Greenpower Circuit at Los Arcos promotes values such as teamwork, problem solving and creativity. Participants must work closely together, from the initial conception of the vehicle to the final competition, facing real challenges that require ingenuity and perseverance.
The impact of the programme Greenpower in our students is significant, not only in training future engineers and scientists, but also in raising awareness of the importance of sustainability and electric mobility. By participating in this competition, our students not only acquire valuable skills for their professional future, but also become ambassadors of change towards a more sustainable world.
