Rosendo Alonso, DonRo for his students, he entered Gaztelueta in 1993. Married and the proud father of two former pupils, he taught at the Poli for 27 years and now works as a language and educational support teacher in the Central Pavilion. Passionate about teaching, he enjoys walking with his family and his dog. Artai and, of course, his love of playing the guitar in good company.

PROFESOR GAZTELUETA Rosendo

What time do you wake up every morning? Quarter to seven - even on weekends!

What is your best moment of the day? The daily walk with my family and my dog.

Your favourite film? Trapped in time (Groundhog Day), that unforgettable comedy with Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell.

Which historical figure would you go to dinner with? I would love to go with my grandfather Rosendo. I didn't know him, but the people who did, even today, comment that his intense life in deep Galicia, his trips to the Americas and all his great advice had a very important impact on so many people.

What would you eat at your last meal? An "pulpiño a feira" is a must.

A phrase that has left its mark on you? "Smile at life and it will smile back".

What has been the best thing about your time at Gaztelueta? To work with thousands of such unique and unrepeatable little pupils, to see that over time they remember you so fondly and now to be able to welcome some of their sons and daughters with great enthusiasm.

Which event do you remember most fondly? The Christmas festivals with the pupils and the performances of the Polifónica Docente at the festival.

With whom would you watch a sunset under this mast? It would be nice to see a sunset again with my children, like when they were pupils at GazteI'll make a note of that intention!
