In May, the month dedicated to the Virgin Mary, each year in the school makes a pilgrimage to pray to her and place so many intentions at her feet: their families, the school, sick acquaintances...
Another tradition of the month of May is the celebration of a pilgrimage in which the families, students and pupils of the school usually have a special role. Early Childhood Education. This course, interrupted by an unprecedented situation that led to the temporary closure of schools. almost two months ago, we at the school did not want to miss this event and we made it possible to celebrate and follow the pilgrimage in this atypical month of May from home through our account at Instagram.
By taking appropriate preventive measures, organised by the Chaplaincy After various technical tests throughout the week, the pilgrimage began on Saturday 9 May at 19.15h with the words of the chaplain. From their living rooms, six families from the different educational stages (from Children's to Baccalaureate) prayed the five mysteries of the Rosary and the litanies, while everyone connected to the live social network could respond from home.. At the end of the prayer a floral offering was made and the intentions sent by the families were placed in an envelope at the feet of the Virgin.
Despite the rain and occasional connection problems, the pilgrimage was a complete success. The families were grateful to be able to "return" to the school to pray before the Salve image. and lay at their feet especially the dead, the sick and so many families who will be left in a precarious situation as a result of the pandemic.
Once again, the objective we have set ourselves in this situation was achieved: to continue helping families with their children's education, to be close to the families and to each pupil. If they cannot come to Gaztelueta, Gaztelueta will go home.
