Pablo Díaz-Guardamino (Prom.14), studied Industrial Engineering at the San Mamés School of Engineering and Business Studies at the UPV faculty in Sarriko. He spent his entire professional career at Iberdrola - then Iberduero - where he joined in 1976.
He began his career as a mechanical project engineer for hydroelectric power plants before moving into strategic planning roles. From 1988, he held positions as Head of Market Research Department, Marketing Manager, Operations Manager and Director of Last Resort Supply before retiring in 2017.
Since then he has devoted his time to his family, to sport -golf and paddle tennis-, to music, in the Ondarreta Choir and the Gaztelueta Family Choir, and to watercolour, another of his great hobbies.
"I have a very high opinion of Gaztelueta," says Pablo. "When I joined, I found a school that was a pioneer in Spain in many ways: teaching English - something unthinkable in other schools at the time - teaching us how to take notes and study, helping students and families with precepting, and so on. My son Rafael, of course, also studied at Gaztelueta and I currently have three grandchildren at the school: Pablo, Gonzalo and Íñigo. I am still linked to the school with the family choir and after the reunion with classmates last year at the Sports Festival celebrating the 50th anniversary of our leaving Gaztelueta, we have recovered our meetings where we enjoyed wonderful memories of our years at the school".
