On Saturday 16 February, a team of secondary school pupils took part in a team building at the Palacio Europa in Vitoria. X Edition of the First Lego League.
Under the slogan Into OrbitThe more than 100 teams from 42 participating schools had to work together from the beginning of the school year in three directions: to come up with an innovative solution that would make life in space easier; to present a technical project for the construction of the robot; and to present how they had worked to date and what values stood out in their project.
The Gaztelueta team is formed by David B., Samuel F., Miguel G., Diego R., Javier R. and Miguel and Pablo V., and were captained by Fernando Montero. The robotics elective, which is taught weekly in the STEAM classroom, is taught in the STEAM classroom.
From 10am to 6pm, the team enjoyed an intense day in which, due to technical problems, they were unable to compete at the desired level when it came to solving the missions. In spite of everything, the team members agree on the positive aspects of the experience and recommend to the next generations both the robotics elective and participating in the FLL: "You learn to work as a team and they will enjoy it a lot".
The winners of this year's edition were the team WSTA from Colegio El Regato (Barakaldo, Bizkaia). In addition, Axular Overclock of Axular Lizeoa (San Sebastian) e Insovnia from Begoñazpi ikastola (Bilbao), won second and third prize, respectively.
