Gaztelueta, from the very beginning, set out to go hand in hand with parents in both pedagogical and human and spiritual education. Our educational philosophy is committed to personalised, differentiated education and the importance of the family.
We work with an educational model that seeks personalised attention for all students, so that each one can achieve an integral development of their abilities and their person and become a fundamental part of the society of which they form a part.
That is why we carry out satisfaction surveys with both families and students. A peculiarity in Gaztelueta is that these surveys are extended to former students who wish to participate, as they are part of our educational community and are concerned that Gaztelueta maintains a spirit of continuous improvement.
As this is a tradition and a way of understanding the role of parents, students and alumni, we are pleased to have received 198 comments and suggestions on extracurricular activities, 112 on the relationship between the school and families, 213 on pedagogical and academic aspects, and 127 on human and Christian formation.
From these comments, proposals for improvements are drawn up and shared with the teaching staff and the Parents' Association (APYMA). In 2021 a strategic plan has been drawn up with three areas, which are broken down into various projects:
Family, student and alumni satisfaction survey data
In the 2019 survey - the one before the pandemic - we shared the "Gaztelueta opinions" where it shows a high degree of general satisfaction: families gave a 5 (51%) and a 4 (43%). Alumni gave practically the same marks (52% and 35% respectively); and students (53% gave the maximum mark and 36% a 4).
At Gaztelueta School, in its desire to be one of the best schools in Bizkaia, we are interested in knowing which aspects are the best, especially in three areas: the comprehensive education of the pupils; the coexistence among them; and the quality of the facilities and services.
Comprehensive training: human and academic

It is a key link, which both families and pupils value with a 5 for 60% and a 4 for 20% and 25% respectively.
Coexistence
At our school we believe that respect is the basis of all coexistence. For this reason, the survey asks the students whether they consider that they treat their classmates kindly and whether they feel well treated.
