Solidarity

We train young people committed to improving society
We promote commitment to others and encourage pupils' active participation in improving society. For this reason, there are numerous solidarity activities in which the pupils take part, especially those in Secondary and Baccalaureate. Some are carried out in collaboration with organisations such as Caritas or the Food Bank and many others are promoted by the school itself, both abroad and in the immediate environment.34

Visiting the elderly

The pupils of ESO and Bachillerato - in small groups - go one day a week to a residence for the elderly in the area, or to a centre for the physically or mentally handicapped. There, they collaborate in support work.

Food distribution

On a regular basis, we collaborate in the activities of the Bizkaia Food Bank. All the pupils bring in food, and the Baccalaureate pupils classify and distribute it. We also collaborate with Cáritas in the distribution of clothes and food to needy families.

Solidarity campaigns

Pupils and families take part in solidarity campaigns organised for special reasons: situations of urgent need, catastrophes or others requested by international institutions.

Accompaniment

Through Aspanovas, the students of the Baccalaureate attend the Cruces oncology area so that the children who are hospitalised can spend pleasant and fun times that allow them to distract themselves and rest.

Family volunteering

Families from the school prepare play plans for children with disabilities. They also participate in food collection campaigns and other activities that can be carried out by the whole family. In addition, volunteering is promoted through the Alumni Association.
Giving oneself to others is fundamental. That is why, from a very young age, we try to introduce them to realities other than their own.
José Emilio Latorre. Secondary School Teacher

I have helped with the elderly, with people with disabilities, in food drives.... And I have received more than I have given.
